A new beginning

Hey hey guys my name is Brandy Holmes. I have been a type one diabetic for 36 years now. I was diagnosed at the age of four so you could understand how things have been difficult over the years. But, with the loving support and amazing medical team motivation my life has been full of quality. I created this site because of the information that’s being put out there for diabetics and our love ones isn’t really being taught properly. I recently had an episode where my blood sugar was very high and of course I was very sick. My employer was trying her best to help me. But all she knew was to give me sugar. In another incident, some months ago, my sugar level was very low and my neighbor was trying to give me insulin. It’s not that the information isn’t out there but it is very dangerous to have the information and not understand how to use it. Here at diabetes connection my goal is to help teach and coach any and everyone who is willing to learn how to care for us properly and to help others learn to do the same. It’s my plan to have my family and friends to share their stories and how they had to engage and interact with me to help me and my son who is also a type one diabetic.
